The fuzzy pokémon known as Poochyena continued to growl and lower its haunches before narrowing its eyes and prepared for the oncoming attack. It dug its paws into the soil then leapt to the side just in time to avoid the flames engulfing the ground it was previously standing on. The dark type pokémon then turned about and began forcing its hind legs into the soil again, however this time it flicked up the dirt with its paws in the Bagon's general direction and hoped that the Sand-attack would hit and lower the dragon pokémon’s accuracy. This would make it easier for dodging and avoid oncoming attacks with simple manoeuvres. After flicking the dirt towards the Bagon, the wild Poochyena turned back around to keep an eye on its enemy, not wanting to let it attack without warning.

Bagon readied itself watching as the dog dug its paw into the soil leaping to the side to avoid the incoming flames. The Dog forced its hind legs into the ground and kicked up flicking up dirt as it unleashed its sand attack. Bagon breathed in as flames moulded into its lungs. Bagon breathed out expelling a short burst of flames unleashing a small flame thrower. The stream of flames struck the sand burning the grains as glass fell to the drying ground breaking into pieces. Bagon glared at Poochyena as it crouched and breathed in again. The dragon raced forward unleashing a large stream of flames as they came rushing up its throat and from its mouth. The large jet of flames shot forward racing to Poochyena as Bagon dashed through the flames allowing them to engulf his form as he raced in to not only ram the dark type pokemon but to hopefully catch it in the first jet of flames from its flamethrower attack.

This Poochyena was very confident in its abilities as it carefully observed its surroundings before challenging it was well prepared for this match. Waiting till the flames and charging Bagon were close at hand the Poochyena dashed to the side as it had done earlier its speed was amazing as it just avoided the tip of the swirling fire that covered the little dragon pokémon. The wild dog like pokémon then took a deep breath of air and whilst moving its head to face the sky Howled, a ferocious sound screaming out of its lungs as it increased its attack power, ready for its next move. The Poochyena stared at the Bagon and prepared for the next oncoming attack, another plan already forming in its mind, this was its time to shine and show the other creatures of the area who was top dog.

Makai eyed the dog pokemon with a twinkle in his eye. The pokemon had potential he could see it. Makai slowly approached Bagon placing a hand upon its head, “I’ll take him” spoke Makai. Bagon blinked only to nod, before backing away from the battle field to rest from its previous fight. Makai eyed the Poochyena with cold, careful and calculating eyes, “I’ll be your opponent.” Makai grabbed his two bundles allowing the black silk to unravel revealing the two long Odachi. The silk were grabbed by Bagon before they hit the ground as to not dirty them. Makai pressed a button on the scabbards locking the swords into the sheaths so he wouldn’t accidently kill the dog pokemon. Makai gave a grin as he twirled the two covered blades.

Makai spread his legs his right side facing the grey dog. Makai held the led sword in a reverse grip and the right sword in a regular grip the sheathed blade facing Poochyena. Makai dug his feet into the ground and pushed forward with high speed thanks to his years of training. Makai quickly closed the range getting within four feet. He swung his right sword downwards and brought his left blade around to strike the Poochyena directly on its head and in its left side on a vertical swing.

This was one thing the Poochyena hadn't prepared for and it took a second for it to realise what was going on. By the time it did it was nearly too late to avoid both blows. It dodged to the side to avoid being hit directly on the head, which could cause it serious problems. However the poor, wild pokémon was hit on its side and sent flying towards a tree stump and slammed into it. The Poochyena was not done yet though as it staggered back onto its feet and shook its head to gain focus again. It stared long and hard at the strange trainer. He seemed even more of a challenge than his Bagon. The wild dog like pokémon bared its teeth with a growl before using the stump behind him to help push as it charged towards Makai. The Poochyena opened its mouth and prepared to attempt to bite down hard on the leg of the strange man, hoping to do enough damage to make it difficult to walk.

Makai skidded across the ground as his weapons struck the Poochyena sending the pokemon flying into a tree stump. Clearly the wild dog pokemon hadn’t thought of him fighting against him at all, meaning he had caught the pokemon by surprised. Makai readied his stance again as the dog growled and pushed off the stump heading towards him its mouth opened aiming at one of his legs. Makai spun out of the way doing a small twirl, his right foot digging into the ground pushing up dirt as he came to an abrupt stop avoiding the bite to his leg. He pushed the tip of the scabbard into the ground and used it to push himself up into the air. He spun in a downward motion holding out the left blade holding it in a regular grip spinning aiming for the dog’s back. Bagon sat on the side like watching his master fight the wild pokemon as it clutched onto the black silk.

The Poochyena was annoyed it had missed its target and quickly ducked and rolled out of the way of the twirling swordsman, narrowly avoiding the sword aiming for his back. The Poochyena then leapt forwards once more towards the strange trainer, however this time it had a new plan. Instead of aiming for the opponent himself the wild, pokémon aimed a bite right at the scabbard that was wedged in the soil. The Poochyena was close enough that it might take too long to catch onto its plan. It grinned slightly as it opened its mouth to attack, if successful it would unbalance Makai and hopefully catch him off guard. Its eyes never left its main target but through its peripheral vision the Poochyena kept a close eye on the sword in the man's other hand, in case he tried to take a swing at him again.

Makai watched as Poochyena ducked and rolled out of the way avoiding the strike to its back. The dog raced forward aiming for his scabbard in the soil. Makai used his right thumb to press the button on his scabbard unlocking the blade. He pulled the blade from the scabbard allowing it to fall to the ground. Makai twisted his body in mid air and did a small flip landing directly on his feet in a crouched position. He twisted his feet turning himself around to face his opponent. Makai held the left blade in a reverse grip in front of him and the right blade pointing towards him, “Your cunning and devoted full of a burning passion to win, that’s exactly what I like in my pokemon. Become one of my partners and you'll become strong beyond imagine” spoke Makai as he launched himself forward again both swords in a reverse grip arms behind his back the blades at the side. He stayed low as he raced forward twirling the blades as he raised the right blade holding it in a proper grip and swung it upwards twirling it at the last second so the blunt edge would hit the dog if connected. He had the second blade at the ready to block any incoming attacks.

The Poochyena felt its teeth bite down hard into the blade's case, however the swordsman had managed to out manoeuvre it once more. It frowned at this and was distracted by its thoughts and failed to see that the man was already moving in with his next attack. The wild pokémon spat out the scabbard and tried to leap away but failed and was struck his left side, sending the poor pokémon tumbling off to the side. The fuzz ball of a Poochyena eyed the man and considered his proposal; however it wanted to see the man’s full potential as a sparring partner first. One of the first lessons it had had as a pup was learning how to Tackle, now it was about to find out if the training had been worth it. Careful to avoid the other blade the Poochyena charged in head first with a full on Tackle attack.

Makai eyed the dog as it stumbled off to the side from being struck. The dog climbed to its feet eying him carefully as it readied itself again for attach. The Poochyena charged him head on with a full tackle attack. Makai threw the blades up into the air digging his feet into the ground reading himself. He held his hands out palms open getting into a stance with his left palm and side facing the incoming dog. He was aiming to use his left hand to strike the side of the dog’s face out of range of its teeth and force it to his left where he would twist his entire body around. Once he was twisted he would deliver a powerful palm strike with his right hand with all his force directly to the middle of the grey beast. Regardless if he hit or missed or not he would spin around and catch his twin blades and ready himself in a defensive stance with one blade at his back the other at his front, with the back blade held in a reverse grip with his right hand.

The Poochyena felt as a palm of the man attached itself to its face. The dark type pokémon blinked and was caught unaware at the actions of the trainer. Suddenly the grey, dog felt itself get pushed over to the left a little. The Poochyena eyed in wonder as he watched the man swing himself around and then suddenly his right hand was coming down to strike him. Before the fuzzy, wild pokémon could move out the way the hand had already made contact with its back and felt the full force of the trainer's strength pushing down on it. The Poochyena was forced downwards its legs spreading apart painfully as it fell down. The dog knew when it had met its match and chose to give the trainer the win. It stood back up, but had trouble doing so as it looked at the man with curiosity. The wild pokémon then lowered its head, but not aggressively, this time it was trying to show that it had finished fighting. The pokémon panted as it waited to see how the trainer would react to its sudden urge to stop fighting him. It only hoped that it would not be forced to continue such a battle.

Makai readied himself blades caught as he eyed the wild dog. He raised an eyebrow as it got up almost painfully and lowered its head as if saying it had finished fighting. Makai gave a smirk of victory as he stood up straight relaxed. Bagon came running over with the empty scabbards and silks as it approached Makai. The trainer re-sheathed the drawn blade and took the silk fabric wrapping the blades up and throwing them over his shoulder using the silk as belts to keep them positioned on his back. Makai slowly approached the dog gripping one of the empty nine pokeballs on his belt. He tossed the small ball up and down as he approached the wild dog. Makai crouched before it so he was eye level with the pokemon. He glanced into its eyes with his cold calculated gaze.

You fought well pup. Now I’m going to place this pokeball against your head to capture you. Under me you’ll will become powerful the strongest of your kind” spoke Makai as he pressed the button on the ball enlarging it. He raised it and tapped the ball upon the forehead of the dog the ball opening up to hopefully begin the process of capturing the Poochyena.

The Poochyena panted and eyed the young man as he approached. The dog like pokémon took a step back at first but seeing that he was simply coming to talk it decided not to try to run for it. Listening carefully the Poochyena thought about it, being the strongest of the pack was what it had always dreamed of; this was its chance to achieve such a dream. The grey fuzz ball looked at the Bagon, it was strong and proud, just like it wished to be someday. It watched as the man held a strange red and white ball in his hand. It looked curiously at it for a second before understanding what it was as it grew bigger in the trainer's hand. The wild pokémon felt the pokéball touch its forehead and a strange sensation flowed over its body as a red light encased it. The Poochyena's instincts told it to fight, but it shook these thoughts away; this is what it had always wanted. A master that would bring out its true potential as the fighter it was. The Pokemon was soon absorbed completely into the pokéball and it shook around a bit as the pokémon grew comfortable inside its new home before making a 'CLICK' sound. The pokéball stopped moving instantly, Poochyena was captured. Congratulations, give a nickname to your new pokémon?

Makai pulled out his pokedex scanning the pokemon within its pokeball. A level thirteen huh same level as Bagon currently was. Makai tossed the pokeball up and down of the female Poochyena and threw it up and down into the air before pocketing it upon his belt. He looked over at Bagon and called to him, “Bagon come we leave for Oldale immediately these two require rest, as do you” spoke Makai as he walked off in the direction of Oldale town as the sun began to set. Bagon ran after its master climbing up onto his shoulder and staying there. Makai’s two new pokemon situated upon his belt as they dangled around his waist, his twin swords upon his back as his cloak hung from his shoulders.
