Hana Zakari VS Roxanne

Hana walked through Rustboro City, clad in a neck high blue sweater with a blue, knee-high skirt. He had a parasol clutched in his gloved hands, and his boot-clad feet made echoing footsteps in the pavement. His loyal Persian Karei walked beside him faithfully. After walking for a bit, Hana stopped in front of the Rustboro Gym, and stared up at it with a demure, polite, lady-like smile.

"Alright Karei-Chan, let's beat this Gym Leader and prove that beauty and strength will surpass all" he said to the Persian in a well-practiced, high-pitched, proper lady-like voice. The Persian seemed to smirk in excitement as she purred out an affirmative noise, proceeding to follow her trainer into the Gym. After making their way to the arena of the Gym, Hana called out to the Gym Leader.


"Greetings Roxanne. My name is Hana Zakari, I request a battle for one of your Gym Badges. Please accept my challenge" he called out through the Gym, making sure to be polite and demure, the picture perfect essence of a proper lady, like his parents had taught him.

"Sure. You may use only 3 Pokemon, so make sure to choose wisely! I will also choose only 3 Pokemon. You may switch out at any point in battle. Let's start! Go Aron!" said Roxanne.

A small rock creature emerged from the Pokeball. She awaited to see who Hana would send out.

Hana recognized the small creature Roxanne sent out as an Aron. He knew from his studies that Roxanne was a Rock-type user, and Aron was also part Steel as well. Since he was limited to only three Pokemon, he knew immediately what his first choice was gonna be. He tossed out the Pokeball that contained his starter Pokemon, revealing a Combusken. "Blaze, start this off by using two Swords Dances" he ordered the Combusken, causing the Fire/Fighting type to do as he was commanded and performed the motions of the Swords Dance maneuver twice, causing him to get a big boost in his attack.

Roxanne decided to lead out with an extreme move right off the bat. It would cause massive recoil and could quite easily miss though. Aron used Head Smash! He tucked his head it. It began to glow very brightly. He then began to charge at Combusken at quite a good speed for such a small and usually small Pokemon.

Hana frowned when he saw the Aron attempt to hit his Combusken with a Head Smash. Thankfully, while the little Aron was fast, the Speed Boost ability kicked in, so now Blaze was fast, as well as super strong. Wanting to end this as soon as possible, he gave out an order to the Combusken. "Charge right at it, then before it can hit you, jump into the air and unleash a pair of Double Kicks onto it's back" he ordered Blaze, causing the Combusken to charge at Aron. Then, before the little Steel/Rock type could impact against the Fire/Fighting type, the now faster Combusken jumped above it and attempted to slam two pairs of Double Kicks upon the unfortunate Aron.

Aron attempted to use Iron Defense but at the speed Combusken was going he had no time. He was already down to about 1 HP after the first kick, and the second sent him flying. This wasn't going to be fun for Roxanne. She returned Aron and sent out Larvitar. He used Sandstorm causing a sandstorm to swirl around him, expanding around the room. He then honed the sand in on himself until he was cocooned in it. He then began to glow. When the "cocoon" blew away, he was left with more speed. He had used a combination move of Sandstorm and Rock Polish.

After the Aron went down, and Roxanne had sent out a Larvitar, the Speed Boost ability kicked in once again, causing Blaze's speed to increase again. Unfortunately, it also got hit by the ensuing sandstorm, and it flinched a bit when he felt the pain. Hana wanted to make the most out of his Combusken, so he decided to go for one another move combo. "Since we aren't being attacked, it's best to get up some boosts. Use one more Swords Dance to max out your attack, and then use a Focus Energy" Hana said as what could be described as a blood-thirsty smirk slithered onto his beautiful, feminine face. Blaze loyally did as he was commanded, and used one final Swords Dance, then used another Focus Energy. The Trainer and his loyal Pokemon then proceeded to see what Roxanne's next move would be.

Larvitar summoned rocks from the ground. The swirled around him making him glow. He was also using focus energy. They were then thrust towards Combusken. It was Stone Edge! Larvitar had a slight advantage, as his ability Sand Veil meant he had hightened evasivness.

While it was a little difficult to see through the Sandstorm, Hana could still make out the form of the stones coming right at the Combusken. Even if he couldn't beat the Larvitar at this point in time, he could always use Blaze to tire the Ground/Rock type at least so that it'll be easy pickings for whichever Pokemon he chose next. With the next Speed Boost kicking in, Blaze's speed was almost half-way out to being maxed, which meant that if he could keep Blaze in for long enough, he'll be very difficult to keep up with.

"Blaze, dive to the side to avoid the Stone Edge. Then, use another Focus Energy and attempt to hit the Larvitar with a Double Kick" he ordered the Combusken, causing Blaze to perform another Focus Energy and move it at an incredible speed, trying to slam it's now devastatingly powerful feet into the Larvitar with a now superpowered Double Kick. Larvitar, in the Sandstorm, was now going to be hard to hit, but Hana still wasn't going to call him back now that Blaze had so many boosts.

Larvitar easily dodged the first kick, with his speed and evasivness. The second kick didn't land directly but managed to just catch him. With plus 6 power it did pretty massive damage, but did not knock him out. He then went in for another Stone Edge, using Focus Energy again to put ihs critical hit ratio up once more. Roxanne seemed to be in trouble but she trusted her final Pokemon. It was very strong.

Hana knew that no matter what he did, Blaze was done for due to how close he was to the Larvitar. Roxanne made a good play by capitalizing on the close distance Hana's Combusken was to her Larvitar. However, Blaze, and Hana himself, were not ones to go down without a fight. "Blaze, there's no way you'll get out of this unharmed, so at least attempt to take it down with you by hitting it with two Double Kicks" he ordered the Combusken, causing the Young Fowl Pokemon to unleash two Double Kicks upon the Larvitar at the exact moment he was hit by the Stone Edge. The result sent Blaze flying back to the feet of his trainer in a faint. Hopefully, Blaze's sacrifice would be enough to take down the Larvitar.

Larvitar was caught slightly again. They weren't direct hits but certainly were strong enough to knock him out. With that Roxanne sent out her final Pokemon, Rampardos. It was under evolved as it was only level 23. She must have trained it hard. Roxanne waited for Hana's next Pokemon. She was at a disadvantage but it did not matter much, especially since Rampardos was so strong.

Hana raised an eyebrow when he saw the Rampardos. Hana knew that he would need to pull out all the stops in order to best Roxanne, so he tossed out another Pokeball, after returning Blaze to his Pokeball, and the newly released Pokemon took the form of a Starmie. "Starmie, start things off by hitting it with a Confuse Ray, and then go for a Surf" Hana ordered the star-shaped Water/Psychic type, causing Starmie to first launch out a beam of energy, proceeding to release a large wave of water at the Rampardos.

Rampardos' head tucked in, glowing white. Rampardos used Protect! The ray hit his head and then shattered like glass. Then the waves hit him, but they simply splashed against him. He took absolutely no damage. His fist then began to glow yellow, with jolts of lightning flickering around his claws. He then made a fist and charged at Starmie with great speed. being a super effective attack this did not look good!

Hana decided on a cunning plan of action. He knew that, if Starmie was gonna be able to get a hit on Rampardos, it required a lot of cunning. So, he quickly issued an order out to Starmie. "Starmie, draw him in close and when he's about to hit you, drown it in Surf and send it flying away from you. The electricity from the Thunderpunch should increase the damage" Hana ordered the Starmie, causing it to let out an affirmative noise as it drew the Rampardos close, and then proceeded to launch a large wave of swirling water at the now very close Rock-type Pokemon.

Rampardos was swamped by the wave. There was only one issue. The charge did not shock him, rather shock the entire wave. Since he was already charged with electricity, he was not affected by the jolt, but Starmie would be hit unless it did something very hard, since the electricity went into the water.

Hana saw the issue that was up with the electricity, and decided to think fast. He knew that, at this current point in time, the only move that would protect Starmie from the electricity, was sadly a move that wouldn't do much damage to Rampardos. However, it would hopefully stop it in it's tracks and allow Starmie to wrack up damage with the next attack. "Freeze the water to stop the flow of electricity with Ice Beam. Then follow it up with a Flash Cannon" Hana ordered the Starmie, causing the Water/Psychic type to freeze the water with the Ice Beam to hopefully encase Rampardos in ice. It then attempted to shatter the ice with a powerful Flash Cannon maneuver aimed at the last position Rampardos was in.

The Ice Beam tactic worked! Sadly, when Starmie tried to use Flash Cannon, the ice was way too thick for the beam of metalic energy to penetrate. Rampardos used Fire Punch to free his hands. He then proceeded to melt the ice around him with his fiery hand, but this could leave him vulnerable.

While Flash Cannon sadly didn't work, Hana did notice that the Rampardos was left stuck, and vulnerable. This was perfect for him, as he now had a chance to take down the Rampardos. So, wanting to capitalize on this, he quickly issued out an order to the Starmie. "While it is stuck and can't move, hit it with a Confuse Ray, then concentrate the wave of water in the opening Rampardos made in the ice. Give it your full power" Hana ordered the Starmie, causing it to let off a burst of dark energy, then following it up with a concentrated wave of water.

Rampardos was hit directly. He struggled for a while. The wave had put his fire out. He tried to put it on again but with a mixture of confusion and weakness he gave up. His body went limp and he fainted. Roxanne returned him into his Pokeball. "Congratulations, you've earned my badge." She gave Hana the badge and smiled.

Hana, now that the battle was over, had quickly switched from an aggressive, blood-thirsty battler, to a polite, demure, proper lady. He proceeded to smile at Roxanne in a grateful manner, and gave her a polite curtsey. "I am most appreciative of winning this battle. I thank you Roxanne, and good day to you" he said to her in a polite manner as he attached the badge to a small badge case he had, and then proceeded to leave the gym with his precious Persian following behind.
