Picking up the trail: First steps

It had been a long and tiring ship ride to Hoenn from Unova, Mitch had spent most of it sleeping in his hammock. The voyage lasted a long two weeks and was the definition of boring. As normal Mitch stayed in his room apart from creeping out for food for him and his beldum. On the final day he was sleeping until he was awoken by the voice of the intercom.
"All passengers be aware we have arrived at our destination of Hoenn, have a great day and remember to travel again with us again"
Taking his first steps off the boat Mitch sent out his Beldum. Beldum floated in front of Mitch and tilted his head as Mitch said
"hey beldum we're here, we're home. now we have work to do"
Beldum nodded and happily and followed Mitch as he walked down the board walk.

Looking around at the many activities the town had to offer Mitch decided that he would check into the Pokemon centre, to get registered in this new country. Taking the walk there he notices most people stop to turn towards him. He never attracted this much attention back in Unova. He thought to himself "Its probably because the town is much more old fashioned and traditional compared  to where i was"  He thinks nothing of it and carries into the centre.

He is welcomed by the calm voice of the nurse and her chansey. "Hello and welcome to the pokemon centre" she said smiling to him. "What can we help you with today?"Mitch looked up to her "Er hey, i just moved here from Unova i need to register myself as a trainer" The nurse said "Of course, please put your pokemon in its ball and place it on the tray so i can put it in the database." Mitch does as she asks while she takes some quick details on a form and then places beldum in a machine healing him to full health and also logging his data."so how is Unova this time of year?" The nurse asks with her back to him."um yeah it's ok i guess..." Mitch was interrupted by the sight of a man in a long dark brown trench coat. The man was sitting in the corner of the room with a large news paper covering most of his body. Mitch could see he had a pair of thin glasses and glaring brown eyes that were staring straight at him. Unlike most of the people on the streets those in the centre paid no attention to Mitch what so ever, "so why is this guy looking at me?" Mitch thought. After exchanging a stare with the stranger for a few minuets the Nurse turned around and handed Mitch his beldum. "We're all sorted, Thank you and we hope to see you soon" She said to him politely.

Mitch walked out of the building quickly and turned back to see if he was being followed by the man. As far as he was aware he was not. He sent out his beldum and said "hey beldum, where would you like to check out first?" The beldum span around like a compass and pointed towards the battle cafe. "Feeling like a little spar do we?" Mitch chuckles and walks with beldum to the cafe.

Looking at the owner then to beldum, Mitch smiled and said "how could i turn that down!" Mitch walked to the little make shift battle arena to the side of the counter, it was not the type of place you'd bring your wailord! But for a nice fun battle it was perfect. The arena had some tables and chairs around so the customers could watch as they ate and drank. Mitch stood at one of the battle zones ready to fight. Beldum floated forwards ready to battle.

Mitch smiled slightly then shouted out "Beldum loop around the bubbles then use take down, and aim for its tail!!" Beldum flew up and headed towards the stream of bubbles and moved in a circle trying to dodge the attack. Only getting struck by a minority of bubbles along the pokemons top side. After getting close the pokemon gains speed for a powerful takedown.

Being so close beldum is hit with the full force of water, and falls to the ground soaked. "Shake it of beldum and go for another hit!" Mitch yells. The beldum floats up and flys straight towards the azuril water dripping off him due to the speed he's moving at.

The Azurill was just landing when the Beldum dashed right into it. Flying back a couple of inches, it fortunately landed on the rubbery ball at the end of it's tail and bounced back upright, rewarded with a few squeals from the girls. The Take Down had it's edge worn off from the Charm, thankfully. "Use Bubblebeam!" They called out, and the Polka Dot pokemon obeyed, shooting stream of bubbles at the Beldum.

As the next load of bubbles headed towards beldum Mitch cried "Dodge the attack Beldum!" The Beldum banked right as the attack missed him carrying on and hitting the wall inside the cafe. "now use another take down and try to focus on where it is" The pokemon rolled in mid air then charged twoards the Azuril again.

"Quick, Azurill! Charm!" The girls called. Quickly, as the Beldum neared, the small cerulean pokemon repeated its previous ritual, chirping while making Charming movements. Hopefully that should lower the Beldum's attack and main stead furthur. The Azurill took the hit as there was little else to be done, and tried to release a Water Gun at close range.

Beldum falls for yet another charm almost becoming unaware to the hit of the water gun as it is focusing on the cute pokemon the whole time. "focus Beldum, move in close and use cut!" Mitch cried, tiring to get beldum to land a hit.

(I will assume it as Take Down as Beldum cannot learn Cut.)

Azurill was shocked; the Beldum could resist her Charms? Regardless, she squealed as the Iron Ball Pokemon barreled into her, blowing it back, to be noted, closer than before. She fired another Water Gun, hoping to win by letting the iron foe knock itself out with recoil damage.

The beldum felt the impact after the water gun hits, not flinching from the impact it caused just glaring straight at the enemies azuril with a darker red eye. "Hey beldum, we have them where we want them! Circle around the azuril as fast as you can to confuse it then when its not expecting it use take down!" Mitch said. The beldum nodded looking back to Mitch as his eye turned to a paler red, then moving in for the attack one more.

The Azurill, however, was deceptively fast and whirled around to always meet the Beldum, and allowed it's cushy tail to absorb the impact of the Take Down, weakened by the Charm as it was, and fired another Water Gun.

Mitch looked down as beldum took the impact head on causing his health to be depleted and fall to the ground. "you did well beldum" Mitch said as activated beldums pokeball to return him.

The girl who owned Azurill withdrew her pokemon, surprised at the win; Steel types were known for their defenses. "Return when you've trained well enough~" Another girl piped up from behind the first.

Mitch looked at the trainer and nodded sighing slightly at defeat. "Thanks for the battle" He said.

The girl nodded enthusiastically, clutching her Azurill's pokeball tightly. The sun shone in at the door, warm and inviting. Perhaps it would be easier to take down pokemon which were wild and not trained by people.

Mitch thought to himself "better get training before battling other trainers" After getting his beldum healed he ventures forward to route 110 to do some training.

A Doduo, strangely enough, was wandering around on the sand, poking their beaks into the water, perhaps looking for fish. Neither of the heads caught sight of Mitch.


Level 10

Mitch crept up behind the bird pokemon quietly as to not make it aware of his presence. With one quick move Mitch shouted "beldum go, use take down!" Sending out beldum to surprise the doduo with a powerful attack.

The Doduo squawked as the metal bodied pokemon struck it's side hard. Shaking it's head to clear it's thoughts of panic and pain, it started moving swiftly in a zig-zag fashion to close it and repeatedly jab it's beaks at Beldum with 5 quick moves in succession. Fury Attack.

Beldum was hit by the attack but only was hurt a small amount as it wasn't very effective. "Take down beldum" Mitch instructed. Once more the iron ball pokemon flung itself towards its enemy.
