Frigid Assignment for the Ice Queen

It was cold, that was all Galatea could think. She hated the cold. As the icy wind blew it whipped her thigh length silver hair in all directions. Absol stood silently by her side. So this is Snowbelle City, Galatea thought silently. She was supposed to be receiving an assignment from her handler soon. Standing on a frigid cliff that seemed to be powdered in snow; Galatea couldn't help but admire the beauty of the lights dancing from the city on the snow speckled wind. It was like it's own aurora, shining like a beacon. It was then that she heard the foot steps. She would recognize those carefully placed steps anywhere. Absol started to growl deeply. "Ermita. So you've finally arrived." Galatea said to the mysterious man in the black ensemble.

Ermita merely smiled, "Galatea, always so lovely to see you." Though his smile didn't reach his eyes. He enjoyed the cat and mouse game that they played together. As he thought about it, he knew she was not going to like the mission she was about to receive. Somehow, despite the howling wind, Ermita's hat managed to stay in place perfectly. His Mightyena merely turned it's nose up to the operative that stood before him. Smiling deviously, Ermita looked at Galatea with a glint in his eye. "It would appear, that The Ice Queen doesn't like the cold. Well I suggest you get used to it. Your next assignment is to locate a missing operative believed to have gone rogue. Her name is Vivian, her rank is number 9."

Galatea grimaced as Ermita exchanged pleasantries. She honestly detested the man. As he made a snide comment about The Ice Queen disliking the cold she merely sneered at him. But it quickly fell from her face as he began to speak on her next assignment. Her silver eyes flashed when he uttered the name and rank of the operative. A single digit ranked operative, deserting The Organization. That's practically unheard of. Galatea thought to herself. When she finally noticed the glint in Ermita's eyes, her faced became a careful stone wall. "What am I to do when I locate number 9?" Galatea questioned carefully.

Ermita grinned as he watched the flash of the woman's silver eyes and couldn't help but get a sense of sick satisfaction. He merely smiled and laughed quietly. "What you always do of course. That is your job, is it not?" Ermita said in his ever calm voice. With that he turned and began to walk away. He had taken a few steps and then turned to glance at her again, "Oh, and failure will not be tolerated. Should you fall short of completing this mission, it will be seen as an act of betrayal to The Organization." With that, he chuckled darkly as he faded into the snow speckled wind.

Galatea flinched minutely when he informed her that she was to kill the number nine ranked operative. That was what she done, the reason she gained her nickname of the Ice Queen. Her lack of compassion for people and human life. She merely nodded when he informed her that failure would be seen as an act of treason. When he faded from view and hearing range she twisted her usually lovely features into a face of hatred. That pompous... She let her thoughts trail away as she looked back toward the frozen path ahead. Looking down at Absol she nodded, "I believe that it's time for us to go. Perhaps we can find a pokemon worth catching in this forsaken place." With that she started to climb the path. Hopefully she could find the operative soon and finish her job. Absol trailed beside her quiet and alert, until they both heard a noise ahead of them. "Well, it's certainly not human." Galatea said trying to locate the source of the noise. Absol had taken a step in front of Galatea and was in an attack stance.

Snow was beginning to fall down harder as Galatea had been talking to the man, making the snow that was allready there increase in amount as she walked away. However there had been one pokemon that had kept an eye on her for a long time. It was a pokemon like the informant, he liked to play with her "Prey" Before she would attack and finish them of. This pokemon was incredibly fast which made it able to irritate trainers that came from around here. The noise that she had heard was a pebble that the pokemon had thrown in a bit of grass further away, not only her but the absol seemed to have fallen for it as well as he was at their back.

It began to run in the night from hidden place to hidden place making the grass wristle with noise, as you would only be able to see a black shadow. However this black shadow had claws, sharp ones. The pokemon seemed faster then the other ones that were of the same species, this it had used to become one of the strongest pokemon on the hill. It smirked with a develish grin as only the red was see able throught the fast running pokemon. Her eyes would really have to adjust to be able to follow up with hsi speed, but by then he would have allready hidden out of plain sight. Now he was just toying for her, waiting for her to get annoyed or to make her absol try and stop the pokemon. This would be fun for the wild pokemon.
(the pokemon actually makes a lot of sense with its surroundings :) Now who is that pokemon ?? :P )

Galatea smiled when she noticed sounds coming from basically every direction. It seems as though our friend has been watching us for some time now. The silver haired operative thought to herself. As she noticed the pokemon kept moving quickly she knew that she would not pin point it's exact location. "Well, with such incredible speed, and the conditions of the weather... It's likely we are dealing with a Sneasel, or perhaps a Weavile. They are the only pokemon I can think of that could move so quickly under such harsh conditions." Galatea informed Absol, who nodded it's head in agreement. Perhaps she could battle it, but she would have to get it to stop long enough to battle her. Perhaps angering it would make it stop long enough to battle. It seems to have been playing with us thus far. She thought to herself. "Well, when you decide to stop playing games and face us we will be more than happy to battle you. Otherwise you can take your games elsewhere. We have no time for it." The Ice Queen said, letting her cold nature seep into her voice. She hoped it would be enough to get the pokemon's attention. A Sneasel or Weavile would be an excellent addition to her team.

The pokemon smiled hiding under a blanket of snow. Its eyes  and the pearl on his head seemed to gleam the shimmering lights of the city that was shining its light, lighting up the surroundings as the snow glimmered because of it. it made it look like the snow had been burried in pearls of ice. This only helped the weavile cover itself more and more. She smirked as he listened to the girls guesses about which pokemon she could be. One of the guesses was right but he wasn't going to tell her yet as he looked at her waiting for her to tell her something else. Now she was just under the snow, not making any movement. Because of the snow the absol would have a hard time getting her scent but that was not the only thing this pokemon was used to fighting in the cold enviroment unlike the absol.

He was annoyed that she didn't want to play as she heard her cold nature. She was practically the same as the weavile that was challenging them to a battle as he jumped out of the snow and immediately shot forward using his quick attack. His Red mane leaning backwards due to the wind he created himself. It was obvious the pokemon was incredibly speedy, not only was the enviremont working in his favor but he was a speedy pokemon in general. His claws shining as he charged with a lot of speed from himself and more speed that the quick attack was providing him. He wondered how this icy girl would react to her attack as he wanted to finally have a good fight that would let him prove herself to everyone.

Galatea smiled when the pokemon flashed out from under the snow. She was right, it was a Weavile. It was also extremely quick. She watched and then suddenly the pokemon was a blur. It was heading straight for Absol. It was true that Absol was not used to fighting in such harsh conditions, but her partner was by no means a push over. As it drew closer Galatea looked to Absol and spoke, "Double Team. And then use Quick Attack." She could only hope that the Weavile missed it's first strike and Absol was able to land it's attack. She knew that it was going to be a tough fight, but she also knew that her Absol could handle it. What she knew for certain is that she couldn't waste much time here. Her mission was still under way and Galatea needed to finish it as soon as possible.

The quick ice , dark type pokemon wasn't one that would let herself be fooled so quickly. She was a bit too quick for the double team from her absol as her quick attack hit, and then shot to the other side, having made a bit of space between them. She crossed her arms looking at the absol, grinning as if it was making fun of them. They seemed no match for her, the absol might be very strongue but strenght doesn't care if you cannot hit you're target. That was what the ice pokemon had learned on the mountain. It watched as a lot of absols came charging into it with a quick attack. It jumped up and began to twirl with a scratch. It scratched all the illusions causing them to dissapear however it was hit by the real Pokemon and was send back through the sky.

However in mid air it made a salto making sure it was upright. It took a deep breath making its cheeks bulge as it led out a chilling breeze. The breeze got quicker and transformed into a wind as it began to blow against Galatea and the absol slowly freezing the snow to absol her paws.

Galatea grinned as her Absol's move made contact with the speedy pokemon. Her victory was short lived however when the pokemon twirled in midair and struck her Absol's feet with Icy Wind. The tall blonde knew she would have to think fast in order to take back the advantage. An idea struck her while she was considering the impressive speed of the pokemon. She looked at Absol and smiled, "Absol, lets take a not from our friend here, use Ice Beam on he ground. It won't stop it, however it should slow it down." With her command issued Absol shot a icy blue beam at the ground and froze the field solid. The Ice Queen knew that it would not stop the opponent, but it should throw the Weavile off it's game long enough to make a comeback.

The weavile watched as the feet of the pokemon got frozen due to its icy wind attack. It smirked of develish delight. Its plan had worked, he had made the pokemon stop in its tracks. This would be much better, at least in this way he would be able to hit the pokemon a bit better. However the pokemon had not expected that the pokemon would use ice beam on the ground, he landed on the ice and fell on the ground having a bit of trouble being able to stand up on the ice. However as time would progress, he would get better at it. He lived in a world of snow and cold. It was obvious that he would be used to a bit of a ice however he just had to adapt. If the girl didn't do something quick her plan might backfire and make the ice actually give the weavile an advantage. It was now standing up and slowly moving from place to place slowly getting better at it.

Galatea watched as the Weavile started to slow down due to the ice. Smiling she looked at Absol, she gave one nod and focused on the Weavile. Galatea had complete faith that Absol would free her legs. For a moment all that could be heard was the high wind and the scraping of the Weavile's claws as it tried to find purchase on the ice. It gave the woman an idea. At that moment she heard ice shatter, Absol had used bite to free herself from the ice. And her trainer gave a quick order, "Now, Absol, use scratch to dig your claws into the ice. When you get to Weavile, finish this battle with Play Rough!" Her order was resolute. Absol's claws dug into the ice as the white pokemon hurdled toward the Ice type pokemon at top speed. As Absol approached it's enemy it began to be enveloped in a pink glow, if it hit it would be a devastating blow for the Weavile.
