Beginning of the Adventure.

It was a rather pleasant spring evening, the streets of Littleroot Town were quiet and you could see the lights shining from windows. A smooth breeze could be felt from time to time. A young boy, named Damon, was walking around the streets of the very same town, soon reaching Route 101. Damon was examining his freshly gotten Pokedex from Professor Birch. Next to him was walking his Sableye who was cleaning his teeth with a shark toothpick made out of some kind of common rock. The two were keeping a steady walking speed until the town wasn't even visible anymore.

Damon had slowed down and so had Sableye although both of them, especially Sableye who has gemstone-like eyes, could see in the dark very well. Damon wanted to be somewhat cautious with the pokemon. He knew very well that this area was not known to have very strong pokemon, at least not strong enough to match his Sableye, he still wanted to stay on guard. There was also a reason Damon had decided to start his journey during evening. He was really interested in capturing Ghost Type pokemon and although the chances were little he still decided to try and obtain one, especially since he wanted to challenge the gym leader in Petalburg city who was known for being Normal Type trainer.

"Alright," started Damon speaking, "The plan is next. We take this route to Oldale Town. I hope we musn't stay there very long and then we will head to Petalburg town. During the time I would also like to increase our team size or at least beef you up a little bit before taking on gym leaders."
Sableye nodded, still aggressively scratching his teeth with the toothpick. "After Petalburh town we just keep on going and challenge the gym lea . . ." When suddenly Damon was interrupted by a sound made by a pokemon. Damon quickly pointed his pokedex towards it to quickly find out what it was.

A low growling could be heard from a nearby bush. The darkness concealed the Pokemon well, but as it stepped out under the pale moonlight it could be made out. The dark fur standing on end, and bared teeth along with the vicious sounding growl all belonged to the tiny canine Pokemon, Poochyena. They were known to sometimes be aggressive, especially over territory. It seemed Damon had stumbled into its territory, and the voice on his Pokedex didn't help much.
Poochyena; The Bite Pokemon. Poochyena is a Pokemon with a persistant nature. It chases its chosen prey until the prey becomes exhausted.
The growl grew louder at the automated voice as Poochyena's red and yellow eyes reflected the light, seeming to glow back to Damon and Sableye.

Damon smirked with confidence. "Alright Sableye, seems like it is going to be our first battle on our journey." Sableye nodded and quickly ran in front of Damon, facing the Poochyena. The boy quickly put his pokedex back to his pocket, he already knew how he was going to start the battle and thus commanded, "Sableye, fury swipes," as Sableye started furiously running towards Poochyena the boy added, "Don't give him any time to rest." As Damon's pokemon reached closed to his enemy Sableye's claws started glowing white and once in range he tried to scratch poochyena several times. Sableye, just like Damon, had a smirk on his face. His eyes were full of confidence.

Poochyena was surprised by the attack, and felt the claws rake across him not once, but three times! Poochyena jumped back, shaking the attack off. He'd gained a nice claw mark across his face from the attack, which somehow only made the creature look tougher. It growled lowly, baring its fangs again, before launching at the Sableye, snapping his jaws. Poochyena used Bite!!!

"Good job!" complimented Damon his Sableye on the job well done. The pokemon didn't really pay much attention to the useless stuff his trainer said and kept on his concentration. As soon as Poochyena launched his bite attack Damon commanded, "Take it!" Sableye knew exactly what to do, he was quite experienced fighting alongside Damon and thus had the idea what the boy was thinking. Sableye steadied his ground and put forth his left arm, allowing Poochyena to bite it. Sableye could feel the attack well, his opponents jaws were pretty strong. "Now Scratch." Now that the Poochyena had his jaws around Sableye's left arm and was really close to him the Darkness pokemon was in good spot for a strong attack. He raised his right arm up high and then quickly moved it down, readying his nails. He was aiming to scratch poochyena's face once more with full power.

The Poochyena's snarl was rather nasty as its teeth sunk into Sableye's arm. However, its eyes flashed a sign of realization as the claws struck him down, causing him to release his grip before tumbling across the ground. He stood weakly, panting a bit with some blood dripping from his lip. He wasn't out yet, though and ran in for another attack, launching another BITE at the foe, Sableye!

After Poochyena was flung away Sableye gave a quick look at his arm. His arm was hurting and it was most likely that attacks by his left hand were going to be weaker now. Damon was well aware of the situations, he knew that Sableye's arm was going to get damaged but that was the risk he was going to take. "I like your determination Poochy," complimented Damon as the pokemon flung himself towards Sableye once more, "Night Shade, quickly!" Without a second wasted Sableye's eyes started glowing red and just before there was only about 20 cm distance between two pokemon Sableye fired two black beams, trying to intercept Poochyena's attack.

Poochyena let out a loud yipe as he was struck again, once more tumbling to the ground. This time he stayed there for a few moments, gritting his teeth as he tried to stay conscious. He put one paw to the ground, trying to lift his shaking body up before he collapsed, legs folding under him. He panted a bit, fading out as he fainted.

Poochyena fainted! Sableye gained 16 exp!

Damon looked as the Poochyena struggled to stay up, he was still ready to give another command when the pokemon should make another reckless move. He was somewhat relieved when Poochy finally fainted, he didn't really want to hurt the pokemon more. "Good job Sableye," said Damon as he started walking towards the fainted pokemon. While at it he threw his back in front of Sableye, "Look my bag for bandage, gonna patch both of you up." Sableye did as Damon told him. At the same time the boy himself crouched down at Poochyena, "You did fight really bravely but you were no match for Sableye." He smiled a little as he stroke his fingers trough the pokemon's fur, checking his scratches. He was bleeding a little but there wasn't probably going to be a big scar.

Sableye had finally found the first aid kit and ran to Damon with it. The boy took it and started wrapping Sableye's left arm in bandage. "Really good job." Sableye smirked a little and acted like it was nothing. Damon only smiled over it and once done with Sableye's wound he patched up Poochyena as well. After that was done he placed Poochyena in comfortable position for sleep and the duo started moving towards Oldale Town again. Although Damon had considered capturing the Poochyena he didn't do it. He had been quite determined but it wasn't good enough for him, he wanted to create the strongest pokemon team even and thus his pokemon needed to have strongest will there is.

After considerable time of walking, it seemed to be midnight already, Damon heard another pokemon approaching them. He quickly pulled the pokedex out from his pocket and pointed it towards the location the sound had came from.

This time it was a small red onsect Pokémon. His pokedex quickly identified it as a Wurmple. "Wurmple, the Worm Pokémon. Often targeted by bird Pokémon,it desperately resists by releasing poison from its tail spikes. The Pokémon was just clinging to a nearby tree, minding its own business.

Damon was really used to Wurmples because he had spent a lot of time in the forest as a child. He considered for a moment if he should challenge the pokemon or not. Sableye in the other hand had already made up his mind and gave questioning look at Damon. The boy noticed it and decided to fight after all, "Wurmple, I challenge you!" shouted Damon to gain the worm pokemon's attention. He wanted the pokemon to notice him. He and Sableye could probably have sneak attacked him but that just wasn't Damon's style. "Sableye go, use Fury Swipes." Sableye nodded and quickly started dashing towards the tree. His claws started glowing white as he tried to attack Wurmple several times. He tried not to use his left hand as much and not put it in danger because of the previous injury.

The Wurmple turned its head, looking at Syco as he spoke. When the challenge was initiated, it hopped down from the tree, facing Sableye with a determined look. As the Sableye charged towards it, the wurmple thought quickly and shot out masses of sticky string at Sableye's claws in attempt to pacify him. Wurmple used String Shot!

"Cut up the strings," commanded Damon his pokemon. Sableye used his claws to furiously cut up white sticky substance. After cutting it up he jumped back a little bit. Some of string stayed on his body but it seemed like it wasn't going to bother him much. As Damon thought that the String Shot was going to be an annoyance he shouted to Sableye, "Sableye, use Torment!" Sableye quickly stomped his foot on the ground and yelled at Wurmple, making him unable to use string shot twice in a row. "Alright, be ready to dodge now," said Damon to Sableye. The boy knew that the Wurmple probably knew only four moves, Tackle, Poison Sting, String Shot and Bug Bite, but as string shot was now out of the question Wurmple only had attacking moves left. Sableye bend his legs a little, being ready to move in any direction in case of an attack.

Wurmple felt the power of the torment, and struggled but couldn't use another string shot yet regardless. Settling on another move, it rose its barbed tail up, poison beginning to form in droplets at the tip. Wurmple charged at Sableye, tucking as a millipede would into a wheel and rolling at him while aiming to stick him with the barbs. Wurmple used Poison Sting!

Sableye smirked, he seemed to be taunting the pokemon. "Alright Sableye, wait for the right time to dodge and then scratch attack from the side," commanded Damon. Sableye was completely okay with the plan and as soon as his enemy got close to him he launched himself to the right side to dodge the barbs. The next moment he had already made another quick and strong leap towards Wurmple's side, attempting to scratch him with the claws of his right hand.

(OOC: Greetings. I hope you don't mind, but Lucretia has put me in charge of modding this topic, so I'll be taking her place, at least for now.)

Wurmple was feeling rather confident about the power of its Poison Sting, however, it was caught off guard when it found that its attack had missed. It uncurled its body, and in those precious seconds of its confusion Sableye had unleashed his attack, slashing his claws at the Wurmple's soft body.

It cried out in pain, but it was not quite ready to give in just yet. It really wished to attempt another Poison Sting, but due to the power of Sableye's Torment, it was impossible. Wurmple fixed its eyes on its foe then lunged forward with its head down. Wurmple used Tackle!

Damon was pleased that Sableye's attack had been successful. The boy liked that the Wurmple was aggressive and always kept on attacking. Damon smirked as his opponent used tackle though. It was a normal type move and thus had no effect on Sableye. Damon and Sableye had been in such situations way too much in the past, thus Sableye knew exactly what to do even without a command. Nevertheless Damon still shouted it out, "Sableye, take it and use Fury Swipes!" Sableye stood his ground as Wurmple crashed into his stomach. The pokemon only smirked though and now attempted to hit Wurmple several times with his claws.

With its target standing perfectly still, Wurmple was sure this attack would hit. But when it attempted to slam itself into Sableye, it was more than a bit startled that the Tackle attack had no effect at all.

This time it didn't want to be caught off guard, but Sableye was too fast for the little Bug type. Sableye's sharp claws raked against Wurmple once... twice... a total of four times! Wurmple let out another cry, trying its best to stay upright. It wasn't ready to give up just yet, but it hadn't the strength to fight on any longer. It finally fell over, down for the count.

Wild Wurmple fainted! Sableye gained 15 exp!

Damon smiled at Sableye, "Good job buddy." The pokemon started laughing as he scratched the back of his head. The boy walked up close to Wurmple and looked at him. He started shaking his head, "Nop, still not good enough." He looked at Sableye, "Let's get on going. Would like to reach the town before morning," said the boy smiling. It seemed like his plan of catching ghost pokemon didn't work out as well as he had planned. He wasn't upset though, just meant that he needed to work harder. The duo started walking towards Oldale Town. The rest of their journey went safely and they reached the Oldale Town.
