Off to see the Pokemaniac

"Well, if there's 'Tons more Trainers where that came from', Where should we start?" asked Lucas.

"Hm...there are 3 hikers, 5 youngsters, 2 lasses and 1 pokemaniac. Who do you wanna start with?" She said, counting them off her fingertips.

(That many is really there in the game. I think. Give or take a few trainers.)

"I Think I'll go...for the girls!" said Lucas. Headed for the Lasses. Genesis shook his head, and fallowed it's Trainer.

"All right! I'll take on the Hikers! Meet you here in half an hour!" She said as she waved and departed.

Lucas nodded and headed off. He looked for the first Lass he could find.

Emerald, I swear, you are WAY to flirtous, said Genesis.

"Shut up. Says the Magby that hits on every Smoochum he finds." said Lucas.

Lucas eventually found the first trainer.

"Oh hello. My father took me to a rocking party on the S.S Anne. Battle me!" She said, holding out a pokeball.

"Well...I'm sure we'll be acquainted soon...", said Lucas, coolidly.

Genesis have him a dirty look.

"Uh..but a battle will do." Said Lucas.

"What?" The Lass raised an eyebrow, not really understanding. She let out a Slowpoke on hearing his last sentence.

Lucas sent out Comet the Charmander. "Your move." said Lucas.

He got out his pokedex and scanned slowpoke.

Slowpoke: Dopey pokemon
SLOWPOKE uses its tail to catch prey by dipping it in water at the side of a river.However, this POKeMON often forgets what it’s doing and often spends entire days just loafing at water’s edge. A sweet sap leaks from its tail’s tip. Although not nutritious, the tail is pleasant to chew on. Although slow, it is skilled at fishing with its tail. It does not feel pain if its tail is bitten. If something bites its tail, it won’t even notice for a whole day.

"Hmm. A Fire type. Not a smart move. Use Water Gun!" The lass cried.

"What? Use Water Gun!" She cried. Slowpoke appeared to be loafing around! "Bah!" Slowpoke slowly raised it's head, goggling at it's foe with sleepy eyes then quite unexpectedly released a strong jet of water heading straight for the Charmander.

It hit Comet dead-on, due to the unexpectedness, put not alot of damage. "Use Scratch." said Lucas, and Comet scratched the Slowpoke.

Slowpoke didn't seem to mind the least as it took a nap as the hit landed. "No! Get up! Use Rest or something!" But the Slowpoke paid least attention.

"Scratch, again." said Lucas. Comet went in once again for another scratch.

The Slowpoke didn't budge as it sat like a rock. "Another Water Gun!" But Slowpoke was asleep.

Lucas face-palmed. "Scratch..." he said. And Comet scratched Slowpoke, again.

Slowpoke slowly turned it's head and looked at Charmander with drowsy eyes. It let out a loud Yawn and went back to sleep. Hopefully the Yawn should hit and Charmander falls asleep.

The Yawn hit Comet, and he became drowsy. Then he went in for another scratch. "Man that slowpoke has a hard head." said Lucas to himself. "Yet it's head is hallow!"

Slowpoke was fast asleep and Arceus knows if he felt the Scratch. A light snore escaped it as it slept, indicating it's deep sleep.

[Arceus Knows?]

Comet then fell asleep from the effect of Yawn. "Dang it. Return." said Lucas as he recalled Comet.

"Alright Genesis, you get in-" he started, but then his backpack shook. Suddenly, Zorua popped out of the bag! "Uh Oh." said Lucas. He expected it to cry over it being separated from Zoroark, but instead it happily hopped out and jumped down next to Lucas.

"You wanna watch?" said Lucas, and Zorua replied with a happy yip. "Alright then. Now Genesis, get out there."

Genesis stepped into the battle.

(Yep. People said 'God knows'. And Arceus is a god. So why not 'Arceus knows'?)

Slowpoke, just woken, raised it's head and looked at the Magby. It gave a loud yawn and seemed to be asleep again. It didn't move. Then quite suddenly, it raised it's head and looked at Magby again. Then it seemed to go stiff. It was using Curse, which would raise it's attack and defense, at the cost of speed. Not that it mattered anyway...

Genesis got inflicted by curse, and got hurt. But then he used flamecharge on Slowpoke.

(No. Magby wouldn't be inflicted by Curse. Only Ghost types using Curse would hit the opponent. Slowpoke isn't a Ghost type. It just raises the Attack and Defense of the user at the expense of speed.)

With it's Defense raised and being part Water type, Slowpoke could take such hits all day. It used Curse again, stiffening itself, then stretching itself went right back to sleep. Only, it wasn't sleep. It was Rest. As it's health refilled, a snore escaped Slowpoke as it slept, blissfully unaware.

Genesis got irratated, and threw a dynamic punch at slowpoke.

As the Slowpoke wasn't moving, the move easily landed. Even though Slowpoke was asleep, it was confused. Not that it could attack.

Genesis tried another Flamecharge at the Slowpoke.
