Starting life as a coordinator.

RuRu looked up at Zach from her seat."I know" She stated simply. "I suppose after this you will be facing the gym leader?" She said to Zach. She blinked, and both of her contact lenses fell out without her realizing, exposing her bright blue eyes.

"Oh I hope so." Said Zach

When he saw her eyes again, he got that feeling of familiarity again.

Rather than than saying. something about that he simply said "You have nice eyes."

He said this is a form of compliment, but also as a way to get her to stop wearing those creepy lenses. he jolted thought that she might get angry and have a harsh reaction. His face showed an expression that said "Please Don't hit me."

RuR looked at him quizzically before her eyes grew wide and she realised that her contact lenses had fallen out. Looking down, she could see that both were unusable. "Whatever, just don't get used to it" She said, before getting up and walking to the other side of the room.

"Oh...I'm sorry. I-I'll leave you alone now." Zach said with guilt and sorrow showing in his voice. With that, he turned and left.

RuRu glared at him as he left then sat down again to wait.

The next round came up, and RuRu was called up.

RuRu walked onto the battlefield and released Joltik, waiting to see what pokemon her opponent would use.

Her opponent was a man with long black hair. "And now Ladies and Gentleman, It's Finally the Final Round! We have RuRu and her Joltik, and Zedaki and his Meowth! And...Begin!"

Watching the meowth, RuRu knew that this would be difficult. It had sharp claws and would have little trouble slicing through string shot attacks. "Lets switch it up a bit, Joltik, use spider web then leech life!"

" How fascinating! Combination between a trap attack and a drain attack!"

Points to RuRu.

But then, the Meowth used Taunt, then Pay Day.

Joltik was infuriated by the taunt, but luckily dodged the coins now scattered on the floor. Of its own accord, it used leech life then fury cutter.

The Meowth decided to counter the attack by doubling the Pay Day attack. By Doubling the amount of Coins thrown.

Joltik, being small had little difficulty dodging this second shower of coins, then leaping back towards the meowth, using fury cutter.

Meowth then started using Fury Swiped. It became a literal sword fight, and earned both equal points.

Joltik, using her size to her advantage, jumped in between the meowth's claws, and used fury swipes on the meowth's hand, aiming to render it useless.

The attack knocked meowth to the ground. Meowth tried yet another attempt at pay day.

Joltik was smacked to the ground by one of the coins, but avoided being crushed. The taunt had subsided, so she used thunder wave in an attempt to paralyze the cat pokemon, followed by leech life.

"Well ladies and gentlemen, this joltik has never ceased to impress us with it's combinations, but this meowth seems to be holding it's own!" said the announcer.

In that fact, Meowth tried another scratch attack combo with pay day.

Using protect, Joltik managed to shield itself from both attacks, and jumped from below. She used string shot in an attempt to stick the meowth's hands together, followed by leech life.

Meowth struggled with breaking from the string out of weakness, and the leech life made it worse.

It already had very low point counts, but the fact that it could no longer cut string was unimpressive that it depleted all of it's remaining points.

A buzzer beeped. "It appears all of Meowth's points have been cut down the sides, so this means that RuRu is our winner!" Said the Announcer.

The audience cheered, including Zach and Pichu.

Joltik jumped unto RuRu's shoulder, who stood proudly in the center of the stage, waiting for the judges to present her with her prize.

The judges went up to RuRu. The main one handed her a pink and blue ribbon.

"Our winner now recieves the Rustboro Ribbon! Let's give a big round of applause for RuRu of Twinleaf Town, and her Joltik!" The Announcer said. Everyone cheered, including Zach.

RuRu took a bow and walked backstage, taking the ribbon with her. She walked straight to the pokemon center, without saying anything to anyone, and asked the nurse to heal her pokemon.

The nurse healed her Pokemon. Then Zach came in o the center.

He smiled at her. "Great job." he said. " You did very well for your first contest."

Turning to Zach, RuRu sad\id "Thankyou" in her usual deadpan way. "I'm going to train my pokemon, don't follow me" She said, before walking out the doors and walked to a nearby field.
