Onward, to Nacrene City!

Julia walked to the designated meeting area with Tuck at her side and looked around. She sat down on a rock and waited for Matt to appear.

Matt pushed walked out into the open street, and checked his things.
Money, check.
Pokeballs, check.
Costume, check.
Toothbrush, check.
He sealed his pack, and with his pokemon in stride, mobilized to where he had agreed to meet Julia.
He spotted her and walked over. "Let's go." He said, ready to leave this place.

"Okay." She stood up and slung the bag she had with her over her shoulder. "So we're going to Striaton City, is that what you said?" Julia inquired.

"Yes.But..." Matt pulled a map out of his pocket. "According to this map, we need to cross the SkyArrow bridge, maybe restock supplies in Nacrene City, get across route three and THEN get to Striaton city."

Julia nodded. "Maybe I can find something wild to join my team along the way." She patted Tuck's head a little as she said that.

"Right." Matt said, as he turned around and proceeded towards the exit to the city, off to Sky Arrow bridge. This was rather a rude gesture, but Matt, being the shut-in he was had no perception of what was considered socially acceptable.

Julia shrugged, not really offended in the least, and followed Matt with Tuck trailing close behind. She kept a sharp eye on their surroundings, in case something were to spring up or someone to attack.

Matt progressed onward, onto SkyArrow bridge, idly looking at the people that walked and hoping to somehow find some wild pokemon that might have wandered onto the bridge.

"Popular trainer spot, I see." Julia said, looking around.

Matt didn't say anything and just continued walking along.
He heard a noise to his left and turned towards it. It appeared to be a wild pokemon, or two, he couldn't tell.

Julia turned to face the noise, intrigued.

It was a Rufflet (Male - lvl 14) which was perched on the side of the bridge curiously looking around taking in the sights.

"I've got this."
Matt stepped up. He'd always thought a flying type would be a great idea for a team member, and there one was, presenting itself for capture.
"Alright, Shade, your turn to fight."
"Breon." Shade the Umbreon stepped up, ready to do battle.
"Alright, hit it with Shadow Ball!"
"Um!" Umbreon shouted, as it loosed a shadow ball at the bird-pokemon.

Rufflet was caught off guard by the attack being struck down by it and plummeting over the side of the bridge soon, regaining it's flight pattern and coming up the other side of the bridge behind them, lunging in at Umbreon with a Wing Attack.

"Jump up and hit it with another shadow ball!"
Matt cried.
Shade jumped up just as Rufflet was about to hit it, and fired a close-range shadow ball at the little bird pokemon.

(How did you see Rufflet if it was attacking from behind)

Rufflet was able to maneuver it's way out of the attack as it was attacking from behind knowingly attempting to strike Umbreon with it's wing using Wing Attack.

(Oops, didn't notice that, sorry.)
Shade suffered the blow of the wing attack, and whipped around to face Rufflet.
"Shade, use fake tears!" Matt shouted.
Tears began to stream from Shade's eyes.

The Rufflet raised an eyebrow being unfazed by the fake tears then attempting to strike Shade in the face once more with Wing Attack.

Julia, bored, wasn't really watching the fighting, but rather, wishing that she had another Pokemon on her team. Just as she was thinking this, she heard a rustling, and laughter off to her side. She turned around seeing nothing. She ran off, aiming to find the source of this noise.

"Shade, shadow ball!" Matt shouted.
This was quite a powerful Rufflet, it seemed.
"Umbreon!" Shade shouted as it unleashed the shadow ball directly in the front of the Rufflet, before suffering the blow of the wing attack.

Julia walked back into the area, smiling widely with Tuck, Loki, and Lilac behind her following. She walked back over to Matt where the battle was and resumed watching, her three Pokemon following suit.

(Trying to make it a bit more difficult for you, just so, you don't have an easy ride of it)

Rufflet performed a mid-air spinning pirouette to avoid the Shadow Ball, then trying to strike Shade in the face with a third Wing Attack.

An Eevee (Female - lvl 14) meanwhile strolled over to Julia taking a seat next to her feet to watch the battle happily singing to herself.

Matt's mouth hung open in suprise. Oh, he was DEFINITELY catching that.
"Dodge it!"
Shade leapt to the side, but still caught the Wing Attack as a glancing blow.
"Shade, use quick attack!"
Shade darted forward at amazing speed, gunning for the Rufflet.

Julia watched, looking down occasionally at the Eevee that had sat itself near her.

Rufflet landed crossing it's wings to form an X shape then, blocking the Quick Attack, being moved backwards a few feet and taking less damage but still some. Then lunging forwards with a Wing Attack to strike Shade in the head.
