Bruce Mathers: Chapter 10: Hatred. Annoyance. Sickness.

The Ice Punch struck straight on, and to Machop's horror, it quickly froze into a solid block, restricting movement. The ice covered it entirely, encasing it in a cocoon on ice. Protected though it was by the solidly frozen ice, it would still curiously take damage from any attacks from Wartortle.

Machop was struck. Shooting straight out of the splintering ice, it crashed against the opposite wall. It got up slowly and mincingly. It let out a small whine, before trying another Low Kick.

Machop finally collapsed as the Ice Punch struck. It's little fight with Wartortle had left it staggeringly tired. Brawly tch'ed. "Ah well. Go Meditite!" Flinging the small sphere onto the ground, a Meditite appeared, and immediately settled in a meditating position, glowing slightly.

Brawly didn't say anything, merely shaking his head with a little mysterious smile. Waving his hand submissively, he said, "Please yourself." Meditite continued glowing purposefully.

(I usually save up the exp distributing for later. Also, for future reference, all Brawly's pokemon are male. :3)


Level 16

Meditite didn't so much as flinch when the Flame Wheel struck. Undoubtedly the attack had hurt a lot, but Meditite seemed to be in deep meditation. The glow strengthened a bit when the fire connected, but other than that, the opponent might as well had been made of rock.

Meditite's defense was lowered. Suddenly, in an explosion of swift movement, it released a massive white beam at Quilava, now revealing that the previous attack was Bide.

Meditite closed it's eyes. Perhaps if it focused it's part Psychic powers enough, it could locate Quilava. A blurred, sepia image formed before it. Too many outlines. The smoke was being outlined too. Concentrating harder and silently hoping that Quilava wouldn't attack through the smoke, it finally got a lock on it's fiery foe. It immediately unleashed a brutal Confusion attack.

Meditite was really concentrating hard. It could no longer see Quilava. It opened it's eyes to blink once or twice and renew it's concentration when it saw a rapidly approaching fiery body. With a small, inaudible squeal, it tumbled out of the way. Now taking a bracing pose, it kept looking around for any incoming attacks. On second thoughts, it started releasing Confusions everywhere. On all sides, all angles, not leaving anything to chance.

(Can Confusion even be seen?)

Meditite heard the command. So did Brawly. Perhaps Bruce shouldn't have shouted it out. Meditite closed it's eyes and focused for any incoming heat sources. The billowing black smoke covered each and every nook and cranny of the small room. Suddenly, it felt a twinge of heat and tried to dodge. Too late. The Flame Wheel struck, causing a considerable amount of damage. Flinching in pain, it quickly put up a sorts of shield around it. A layer of Light Screen, and a second layer of Reflect underneath it.

Nestled in the midst, it started focusing for a Focus Punch.

( I think you're allowed to use three moves in a post, right? :/ I could be wrong...)

The outer shield splintered and shattered, and the inner one was cracked, but held. But the disturbingly large crack still sustained itself there. Another of those hits would let Quilava shoot straight through and strike Meditite. But who needed another hit?

The shield dissolved as the glow shot up to a blinding level. And rushing out of it came Meditite, fist raised, ready for a quick powerful punch. At the same time, Reflect barriers formed at the sides of, and behind Quilava, effectively cornering and trapping it.

The front was open though, and the flames escaped that way, burning Meditite who unfortunately was in the way. But that didn't arrest Meditite and it's action of swinging out it's Focus Punch.
